The "Study Group?" TSDM: The more people we had playing in our "pony world," the more people got curious. Family, friends of family, kids and teens hanging out at the game shop after school... It all just kind of snowballed organically. Same with the Study Group. They were really into live actual-play shows and wanted to try out the game, so we gave them our prior 5E characters as "samples." It wasn’t quite what they expected, but once they saw the scope of what we were doing, they stuck with it because they thought it was kinda cool! Spike: You got a bunch of *teens* to play pony-adjacent characters in a colorful cartoon setting?? TSDM: Oh yeah, therewas definitely some groaning and eye-rolling at first. But that’s how we ended up making the School of Friendship part of the official timeline! Of course, there were some deviations from our flash-forward session... For one thing, it just made more sense for Twilight Sparkle to be the founder and Headmare... Spike: That binder I left you when I stepped down...
